Earnings update !!!

First week online and I'm really pleased with the result.

direct ebay commision £5.75 (approx $10)
adsence earnings £2.96 (approx $6)
addition affiliate advertising £0 (these are addition ad banners on the site)

Our weekly objective is £10 ($20) but that was really only expected after at least the 6th week. This is because most search engines have not even found the site and google has only indexed a few pages. I have done quite a bit of work on forums, social network sites, squidoo and blogs but I'll go into more detail on this in a future post about building traffic.

The site is now on google's first page for the second key phrase "mini cooper auctions" which is brilliant. The main key phrase is "mini cooper" and that needs a bit more work.

Google site analytics is showing good traffic numbers from organic searching so the is site starting to show on other search engine sites. (google analytics will be discussed in a future post about monitoring traffic - don't worry it' free, simple to use and a brilliant aid to tweeking the site to build traffic numbers.)

Setting up Affiliate Accounts part1

The first account you will need to create is with Ebay's affiliate partner Commission Junction (CJ).

You need to visit http://www.cj.com/ and register for an account. CJ handle affilate acounts for hundreds of the top brands around the world but the one you need to start off with is Ebay.

Once your account is set up search for Ebay amoungst the advertisers and apply to join.

The next account you will need is for a domain registering company so you can buy the domain name for your website. Don't worry about registering a domain name just yet as there is a lot of planning that needs to go into getting this right and we will cover this topic later on.
The company we reccomend is http://www.jdoqocy.com/click-2662510-10378406 Not only is it one of the best companies selling domain names with an excellent interface and control panel but more importantly it is about the cheapest we have found which is why we have nearly 200 domains registered with them.

This blog is all about how we set up my website for Mini Cooper cars.

We recently came across a fantastic new website tool that enables enthusiasts to build entire websites that not only cover things their passionate about but also allows them to generate a small income from recommending fellow enthusiasts to items that are selling on ebay - the worlds largest market place.
